I’ve been wanting a radio that is portable and easy to carry around. I wanted something that I could just stick in my pocket or hold in my hand and listen to the Twins game. I needed something with AM since iPods and most other mp3 ]players only have FM radios. I think I found the product I have been searching for. It is the Grunding M400 Super Compact AM/FM/SW Radio.

This pocketsize radio is a mere 3.2 ounces and is the size of an iPod and can be taken anywhere. It’s receives AM, FM and shortwave bands with an analog tuner. The digital display shows radio frequency and time, which includes an alarm clock with alarm status. You can set the alarm and wake up to your favorite radio station. Features include headphone jack, telescopic antenna for FM and shortwave reception and internal ferrite bar antenna for AM reception and is powered by 2 AAA batteries.

Pros

• Compact size 3.2 ounces and about the size of an iPod.

• Has AM/FM/SW

• Has a built in speaker or you can plug in headphones

• Comes with a case and headphones

• Includes alarm/clock

• Uses two AAA batteries

Cons

• Tuner is easily bumped off of intended radio station

• Lock only locks the power button

• Does not have preset button for your favorite stations

• AM does not come in well when around other electronic devices i.e. computer, light rail

• Will not stand up like in the picture. A slight wind will blow it over. Has to lay flat.

So far I would recommend this radio mainly because of the portability and that there isn’t much else out there in this category.
