Electric Visual's Peter Line EG2 Goggles - Holiday Gift Guide Review

Trying to find a gift that screams style for the winter sports junkie on your list?  The R.I.D.S (Rider Inspired Design Series) from Electric Visual are not for the faint of heart...

Electric's R.I.D.S. Peter Line EG2 Goggles
Wild graphics reminiscent of my Batman Comics days cover the frame and strap of these epic goggles.  There is nothing boring about the way these things look.  The huge lenses have a bronze-to-gold-to-green reflective sheen that pops off your face.

Even though these goggles looks are over-the-top, a giant shadow is cast by the way they perform.  The size and shape of the lenses all but eliminate blind spots and peripheral vision is not at all impaired.  Coated in anti-everything coatings they will not fog up, scratch or reflect back into your own eyes.  The main reason I stayed clear of goggles for as long as I did was my frustration with fogging and having to look at the reflection of my own eye in the lenses.  I got none of that with the EG2's.

Beyond the coatings, a "dual spherical" design all but eliminates image distortion, so judging distances and depths are no longer a guessing matter when you are flying down the run, doing everything in your power not to bite it.  No more, "oops, that lip wasn't as far away as I thought..." accidents. The only draw back to that is now I have one less excuse when I go tumbling down the hill in front of a bunch of little kids.  Let the snickering commence at any time...

I do not proclaim to be the most experienced goggle guy on the planet, but I really don't see how you can improve upon these too much.  They have taken a beating, both on the hill and in my gear bag, and look good as new.  They are super comfortable and I can wear them all day long and not end up looking like a raccoon, "so I have that going for me, which is nice."

With 32 different versions of the EG2 goggles, you can surely find a pair that matches your (or the lucky gift recipients) style.  From simple Black on Black to the wild "Freak Out" frames, there's something for everyone.

MSRP: $179.95
