We at The Paddle Junkie are huge fans of Mt. Hardwear and what they have to offer. It's always been from our perspective, this time we drafted the help of the female perspective. I have first hand experience at how often this coat gets worn. If it's not on her back it's living on the back of chair instead of in the closet. I can't really point fingers because mine is right next to it. Following is her account of what she thought.
Having recently worn this to Denver for the weekend I underestimated how versatile this jacket would be. Extremely light weight (9 oz) and extremely portable this jacket can easily be stuffed in the top of my already bulging carry-on as I board the plane. It has the option to pack into itself with an exposed caribiner loop, but that's too easy!
I did find that it does an excellent job of regulation of temperature between the indoors and out. With large lined pockets that keep my hands warm with enough room for my cell phone among other necessities. The jacket contains just the right amount of insulation (60 g) and it looks good. The jacket has a 20D nylon micro ripstop fabric which allows for excellent maneuverability. Enjoying the opportunity to pair this with sweaters and mittens the jacket does a great job at allowing for the flexibility of adding or subtracting layers dependent of how I feel.
As I tell my friends, this is the perfect jacket to run errands in. With room for adding more layers without feeling bulky this is a perfect jacket. Keeping me warm and dry in any condition is most important and from the bluff to the boutique, this jacket lives up to Mt. Hardwear's reputation. With Valentines day fast approaching, get her something different and enjoy the outdoors together.
